Rick's Reflections
5/18/08

From my perspective, one of the most anticipated components of the “80 Days of Prayer and Focus” is the feedback session that is scheduled for Sunday evening, June 8. You will get more details in the days to come but, for now, please mark your calendar for this special time of sharing. We will come together for the purpose of sharing what God has been putting on our hearts in terms of the new season of ministry we are heading into.

We will share insights and collectively explore what we can do for the glory of God in the days ahead.

Between this and the congregational survey that brother Don Beck will be talking to you about, we hope to have a clear and compelling consensus as to the focus of our ministry efforts over the next months and years. Whether you are new to Eastview or grew up here, we will all be moving into the future of the church’s history together. Let’s make it a glorious one.

By the way, Jan Murphy, Louise Lowry, Norman Ward and a few others are making a concerted effort to create an up-to-date and thorough history of the Eastview congregation. This will be a great tool to help us celebrate what God has done and appreciate all that has gone on before that has brought us to this strategic time and place. Pray for them as they take this task seriously. You can’t rush a masterpiece, but we hope to have something to share with the congregation by this fall.

Finally, make sure you take time to express your gratitude to the Lesters and Forgengs for all their hard work and for the love they have shown our church family. Pray for them as they start new seasons of ministry themselves.

This we know, God is faithful, and He is on His throne.

And the Angels Rejoice!

Two of our youth decided to make Jesus the Lord and Savior of their lives and were baptized recently. Mackenzie Hunter and Alex Hofer were baptized on April 30 and May 11, respectively. Mackenzie is the daughter of Tracy & Chris Hunter and sister of Ross Hunter. Mackenzie’s birthday is September 22. Alex is the son of Tony & Cristie Hofer and the sibling of Baileigh and Jason. Alex’s birthday is September 10. Congratulations, Mackenzie and Alex!        We rejoice with you!
